History

Dr. Roger Baker became pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in March 1976. The church was meeting in a store-front building at that time. As God began to bless, the Church founded Calvary Christian School in 1982. Dr. Baker acted on the burden that the Lord had placed on his heart and founded CBBC in 1988 as a preacher training school. In 2008, Dr. Baker resigned as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and Kevin Broyhill became the Pastor of the church and the President of Calvary Baptist Bible College. Dr. Baker continued as administrator of the college in his new role as Vice President and served in that role through the conclusion of the 2014-2015 school year. In 2014 the college expanded to include the training of Christian ladies for greater service to the Lord. Dr. Richard Harper was chosen to fill the role of Vice President beginning in January 2016.

Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Bible College is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church in King, NC where Kevin Broyhill is the Pastor. Calvary is an independent, fundamental, Baptist church with a desire to reach the world. For over forty-five years, Calvary has sought to make a difference in people's lives, our community, and the world.

With a regular Sunday attendance around 800, an active soulwinning ministry, a busy bus ministry, and over other 40 ministries, students will have no trouble finding a ministry in which to become actively involved. Calvary Baptist Church is the real world example in which each CBBC student can see the courses they are taught being in the classroom successfully put into action.

President's Corner

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your interest in Calvary Baptist Bible College. I believe you will find we have a good course of study to offer you.

Historically, God has blessed individuals and institutions that have firmly stood for the fundamentals of the faith. We have determined to maintain Biblical standards of conduct and practice, based upon the Word of God. We stand without apology for the old-time Gospel and the highest standards of morality and Christian character.

We at Calvary also believe that a call to preach is a call to prepare. Pastors must be prepared to face the challenges of the ministry with a trained mind, a compassionate heart, and a spirit that is controlled by the Holy Spirit. We are committed to giving our students the finest, well-rounded, practical, Bible-centered education possible. It is our prayer that God will set your heart aflame with a passion for the lost and a love for God’s people. Above all else, we want to please the Lord.

We will be praying with you about attending Calvary. If I can help you in any way, please feel free to contact me. May the Lord bless you.

Yours for the Harvest,

Pastor Kevin Broyhill

President

Dear Friend,

After over twenty-five years in full-time evangelism, the Lord has opened the door for me to be involved in Calvary Baptist Bible College. Since the very first days of our ministry, I have had a desire to help train young men and ladies to serve God with their lives. It is with great joy and excitement that we begin this new phase of our ministry!

I share the burden expressed by Dr. Roger Baker, the founder of CBBC, “To help train men for the highest calling of our land, the call to preach. Handling the precious Word of God must never be taken lightly. The public ministry from the pulpit must be founded upon a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”

As we have traveled in evangelism, we have been privileged to see many ministries that continue to thrive in this present world, and have been unfortunate to see some that are not. It is my desire to help train young men in those things that will be a blessing and warn them to avoid those things that will not!

Yours in Christ,

Dr. Richard Harper

Vice-President
